A visit to the Magic Kingdom begins with a grand circle
tour aboard authentic steam trains, followed by a nostalgic trip down Main
Street, U.S.A., aboard a horse-drawn streetcar, a fire engine or a
horseless carriage.
Strolling beneath dense vines and bamboo branches, guests
pass the gigantic Swiss Family Treehouse -- re-created from the famous Walt
Disney movie -- and make their way to a last-outpost river landing where
they board tropical launches for the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland.
Beside the picturesque Rivers of America is the land of
frontier America -- the old west with its boardwalks, brass-railed saloon
and forest forts. Here, too, is the zaniest troupe of singing bears ever
assembled, in the Country Bear Jamboree.
The true spirit of America is brought to life in the
shadow of a giant oak, known as the Liberty Tree.. Within the Hall of
Presidents, the most impressive moments in American history are presented in
life-like realism.
Happiest of all the Disney lands is the one inspired by
animated Disney film classics -- Fantasyland. Here, in the courtyard of
Cinderella Castle, are the Mad Tea Party, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Snow White’s Scary Adventure and Peter
Pan’s Flight.
Tomorrowland features a glimpse into a city of the future
as envisioned by the sci-fi writers and movie-makers of yesteryear.

The Hall of Presidents |
 |
|
|
Speaking inspirational words about freedom,
equality and democracy, George W. Bush shares the spotlight with
all of the United States' chief executives in a stirring salute
to America and its leaders. "Again and again we return to
the same simple principles," Bush says during his 90-second
speech. "Freedom, equality -- the freedom to create, to prosper,
to dream ... equality before the law, in the workplace, in the
chance for a better life -- and each time, in the process,
America grows stronger, the beacon of democracy grows brighter,
the world looks in new astonishment at what free people can do."
President Bush, who personally recorded the short speech written
for the attraction, is represented by an Audio-Animatronics
figure sculpted by Disney Legend Blaine Gibson, who created most
of the busts used to construct The Hall of Presidents' 42-member
cast since it began development in the 1960s. Now retired,
Gibson's recent busts include presidents Ronald Reagan, George

"it's a small world" |
 |
|
|
One of the most beloved attractions at Magic
Kingdom, "it's a small world," recently received an extreme
makeover -- of sorts.
The classic Disney attraction, inspired by a similar Disneyland
theme park attraction, was brought to Florida for the Grand
Opening of Walt Disney World Resort in 1971. Thirtysomething
years later, it got a makeover that includes décor from its
California cousin. In honor of the "Happiest Celebration on
Earth" 18-month celebration, the attraction received the most
extensive renovation and refreshment in its history, courtesy of
Walt Disney Imagineering, the original creator of this classic
attraction. |

Wishes |
 |
|
|
The power of a wish combines with magical moments
from cherished Disney films and dazzling pyrotechnic effects to
create "Wishes," the biggest, boldest fireworks show ever
presented at the Magic Kingdom.
Narrated by Jiminy Cricket, who memorably served as Pinocchio's
conscience in Disney's animated masterpiece, the new
story-in-the-sky spectacular tells a thrilling, heart-tugging
story about making a wish come true. "I bet a lot of you
folks don't believe that -- about a wish coming true, do ya?"
Jiminy says as the 12-minute spectacle begins. "Well, I didn't
either. Of course, I'm just a cricket, but let me tell ya what
changed my mind. Ya see, the most fantastic, magical things can
happen -- and it all starts with a wish!"
The story of "Wishes" blends classic Disney songs
and character voices with pyrotechnic effects never seen before
in a Disney theme park, including several new sites for
launching fireworks that create moments both breathtaking and
intimate.
Wishes is generally presented nightly. Check Times Guide for days and show
