“Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” celebrates the many festive moods of the holiday season, showcasing a series of holiday themes including a Friends and Family Christmastime Party, a sleigh ride through a Winter Wonderland, a romantic Fairy Tale Christmastime, a scrumptious display of Christmastime sweets, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus in a grand finale. And for longtime Disney Christmas parade fans: Soldiers, Snowflakes and dancing deer are all still in the parade. The parade features original music as well as both classic and current holiday tunes.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party comes with a winter-weather forecast guests can count on -- a 100 percent chance of snow flurries on Main Street, U.S.A every night. And just in case the sight causes a chill: complimentary hot cocoa and cookies are served. Many popular Magic Kingdom attractions are open to guests.

Admission to the party requires a separate ticket. Tickets are $47.95 plus tax for ages 10/up and $40.95 plus tax for ages 3-9 (but with advance purchase, guests can save $7 per ticket for select dates). Note: Many party nights are sold out in advance. To purchase tickets, guests can call (407) W-DISNEY or visit disneyworld.com.

Disney's Pirate and Princess Party - January 21, 26, 29, February 2, 5, 9, 14, 22, 26 and March 1, 6, 11, 14

With an adventure map and treasure pouch in hand, families can embark on a quest for colorful beads, chocolate doubloons and fun throughout the Magic Kingdom theme park. Adventurers can explore Magic Kingdom on a quest for pirate coves and princess courts brimming with specially themed entertainment, participate in character meet-and-greets and experience some of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions open throughout the evening. Guests are invited to dress up as a wily pirate or favorite Disney princess.

Adding to the magic of the event will be two new nighttime entertainment spectaculars:

  • "Disney's Enchanted Adventures Parade" features a new 39-foot-long raucous pirate ship overflowing with swashbuckling adventurers, plus a treasure-filled float with Captain Jack Sparrow himself. The colorful cavalcade moves down Main Street, U.S.A. with members of a flag corps each twirling the Jolly Roger, plus royal knights on horseback, court dancers and a regal processional of Disney princesses and princes.
  • "Magic, Music and Mayhem," a fireworks display orchestrated to an original musical score, will fill the sky above Magic Kingdom.

Night of Joy - September 2008

Night of Joy, which requires a special ticket, begins at 7:30pm (after regular theme park closing) and continues to 12:30am. Performances will be at several stage locations throughout Magic Kingdom. In addition, Magic Kingdom attractions -- including the ever-popular Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad -- will be in operation.

Advance tickets ($41.95 plus tax for one night, $71.95 plus tax for both nights) are available by calling (407) W-DISNEY or by visiting disneyworld.com/nightofjoy online. Tickets purchased on the date of the event will be $46.95 plus tax if available (Night of Joy is frequently sold out in advance).

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - September & October 2008

With 20 spooktacular party nights scheduled, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a one-of-a-kind Halloween bash that immerses guests in the fantasy of Magic Kingdom.

The lightly frightful fun for the whole family begins at 7 p.m. (after regular park operating hours) and continues until midnight. Separate admission is required.

Each date features trick-or-treating throughout the park and the Halloween-themed fireworks spectacular "Happy HalloWishes." The event also showcases the newly expanded "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade." Guests, who are welcome to attend wearing Halloween costumes, can also experience some of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions.

Guests looking for ghostly tricks during the party are in for a very special treat -- a newly refurbished Haunted Mansion attraction has re-opened its gates just in time for the fall season. The supernatural classic has received an "Extreme Mansion Makeover" including: new show scenes, enhanced sound and visual effects and even a few ghoulish surprises.

Attractions

See all of the things to do over on the attraction page.

The Magic Kingdom opened with six themed lands: Main Street, U.S.A.; Adventureland; Frontierland; Liberty Square, a land originally planned for Disneyland; Fantasyland; and Tomorrowland. Mickey's Birthdayland was created in 1988 to honor Mickey Mouse's 60th birthday, and eventually changed its name to Mickey's Starland in 1990. In 1996, the land changed again to Mickey's Toontown Fair.

Ride the mountain range at the Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain.  Take a stream train ride around the perimeter of the park.  Take the kids on all of the Fantasyland dark rides or meet Mickey in Toontown Fair.  There's always something to do in the Magic Kingdom.

Dining

Here's where to look to find a snack or a meal on our dining information page.

Twenty-nine food locations are situated throughout the Magic Kingdom park, with several character dining opportunities located at The Crystal Palace at Main Street, U.S.A.; Liberty Tree Tavern at Liberty Square; and Cinderella's Royal Table at Fantasyland. Priority seating for full-service restaurants can be made at City Hall on the day of visit or in advance by calling 407/WDW-DINE.

Shopping

Fifty-one merchandise locations offer quality items from clothing to collectibles.  Many of them are featured on our shopping page.

The new expanded Emporium is open and connects the entire west side of Main Street, U.S.A.  Many of the shops are at the exit of your favorite attractions and offer merchandise designed for that area.  Look for pirates merchandise in Adventureland, princess hats in Fantasyland and Toy Story merchandise near Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland.
