Attraction Fact Sheet
Jurassic Park at "Universal's Islands of Adventure®" will
bring guests face-to-face with "living, breathing" dinosaurs. The creatures will
respond to visitors by blinking their eyes, flinching at their touch and in the case of
Spitters, actually spitting water on guests as they make their way through the lush,
tropical island. Inspired by Steven Spielberg's Universal Studios film - the most
successful motion picture of all time - this adventure contains the most life-like
animatronic creatures ever created. Some will delight. Others will threaten. All will
amaze guests with their realism, swiftness and natural motion.
Jurassic Park River Adventure
This phenomenal interactive ride adventure thrusts guests into the
living, breathing, three-dimensional world of Jurassic park, a land where stormy skies are
pierced by colossal five-story dinosaurs that move within inches of awe-struck faces and a
world where riders discover that they have become prey for the terrifying Tyrannosaurus
rex, as they are unrelentingly hunted by the most fearsome creature ever to prowl the
Earth. Moving faster, more fluidly and more realistically than any previous animatronics,
these beasts come within inches of guests' faces. Guests not only get a frighteningly
close-up look at "living" dinosaurs, they also experience a treacherous 85-foot
plunge, straight down the longest, fastest, steepest water descent ever built.
Triceratops Discovery Trail
For the first time ever humans can pet a "living"
dinosaur. At the feed and control stations, trainers will teach guests the family history
of the resident 24-foot long, 10-foot- high Triceratops. The trainers will explain
everything from the creature's emotional state to his feeding habits. Incorporating
state-of-the-art principals of hydraulic physics, mechanics and space-age robotics, this
exhibit contains the most advanced animatronic animals ever created. The creature's
responses to touch will include realistic blinks and muscle flinches.
Visitor's Center
Within the celebrated gates of Jurassic Park's Visitors Center,
guests will find a variety of entertaining and educational opportunities. From the
skeletal remains of a massive T-rex to the laboratories where biochemists develop the
technology to bring these prehistoric creatures to life, guests have never been this close
to the mysteries of these ancient beasts. This interactive discovery center will allow
guests to watch a seemingly real Raptor being hatched in one of the many demonstration
areas.
Pteranodon Flyers
Guests will get a bird's eye view of the Jurassic park compound as
they soar through the air on the back of these gentle flying dinosaurs. With a wing span
of 10 feet, this gliding creature will coast atop the mountainous Camp Jurassic,
overlooking the magnificent tropical landscaping that makes up this sprawling island.
Camp Jurassic
Nestled in a mountainous jungle of an active ancient volcano, this
interactive play area possesses a multitude of adventures. From the deep, dark lava pits
where aged dinosaur bones await discovery, to the rainforest where dangerous Spitters
lurk, guests will explore the decks, caves and mines that hold the secrets of the past.
