Marvel Super Hero Island

Attraction Fact Sheet

Introducing the next generation of theme park attractions, Marvel Super Hero Island will incorporate unprecedented technology with the most popular comic book heroes and villains of all time.

Setting the stage for the first-ever interactive comic book experience are three 21st century thrill rides. Guests will experience the gravity-defying inversions of the "Hulk Coaster", the plummeting 200-foot drop of "Dr. Doomís Fearfall" and the zooming ride through the battle-filled streets of New York on a 3D adventure with "Spider-Man."

The Spider-Man Adventure

For the first time in theme park history an attraction will combine moving ride vehicles, filmed 3D action, live action and special effects in one revolutionary ride.

As guests tour the offices of the Daily Bugle newspaper, where Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, works as a reporter, they realize evil villains have used their anti-gravity gun to steal the Statue of Liberty. Drafted as part of a civilian force, guests must help Spider-Man retrieve the national treasure. Speeding through the 1.5 acre street set, guests will be swept into the midst of an extraordinary battle between good and evil that includes high- tech effects, including an amazing "sensory drop" 400 feet into darkness.

Incredible Hulk Coaster

Entering Dr. Bruce Banner's lab, guests learn that Banner is conducting special gamma-ray accelerator tests. They climb inside their vehicle and realize something has gone terribly wrong. Shooting out of the emerald gamma ray booster with the same thrust as a U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter attack jet - they know they are in for the thrill ride of their lives.

First, the rollercoaster will blast riders from zero to 40 mph in two seconds utilizing specially designed booster thrust. Immediately following, is a complete inversion, 100 feet from the ground, during which guests go weightless. In two minutes and 15 seconds, the 32 passengers in the vehicle will experience seven roll-overs and plunge into two deep subterranean enclosures. At night, the metal coaster track glows green.

Dr. Doom's Fearfall

Piercing the skyline are two 200-foot menacing towers of steel. As guests sit in the four- passenger seats, they learn of Dr. Doom's new creation. He has built a machine that will drain the fear from them. With feet dangling, they are fired to the top of these awesome constructions, just to be sent plummeting to the ground at unthinkable speed. With a drop this fast and steep, there is not even a chance to scream.

Storm Force Accelatron

X-Men superhero Storm summons the forces of nature by putting riders in a whirling, twirling, spinning power generator.
