Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone Facts

Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone FactsDedicated to kids – and to adults who want to act like kids – Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone combines two all-new attractions based on beloved children’s characters – Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster and Curious George Goest to Town – with the best of what children and their families already love about Universal Studios Florida: the Animal Actors Stage, A Day in the Park with Barney, Fievel’s Playland and E.T. Adventure.

  • Every minute, 2,500 gallons of water flow through the wet play area.
  • There are two 500-gallon buckets on the balconies of the clock tower that, when full, will dump in a spectacular splash on the street below.
  • The building facades range in height from 15 feet to 30 feet.
  • The squirters splash water at 200 gallons-per-minute.
  • Recommended ages are toddlers to 12 years old.

A Day in the Park with Barney:

  • The attraction features an interactive musical show and hands-on educational playground.
  • The sing-along, clap-along show takes place in a 350-seet theater-in-the-round setting and stars Barney and his friends Baby Bop, BJ and Mr. Peekaboo.
  • Life lessons are taught in the show through song, dance and play.
  • Special effects take guests through all seasons of the year, with wind, falling leaves, light rain and even snow by utilizing a 360-degree projection screen.
  • Barney’s Backyard features a water harp that plays music as visitors run their fingers through its streams of water and brightly colored rocks emit musical tones when stepped on.
  • The attraction is fully accessible for wheelchair assisted guests.

Animal Actors Stage:

  • Some of the popular features stars in the show include Babe, Mr. Ed, Benji, Lassie and Beethoven.
  • Other stars of the show have performed in Ace Ventura, and The Flintstones.
  • A variety of animals perform in this show including cats, dogs, chimpanzees, orangutans, horses, birds and pigs.
  • Benji has twice been named Animal Actor of the Year by the American Guild of Variety Artists.
  • The show finds many of its dog and cat performers at animal rescue shelters.

E.T. Adventure:

  • Eighty animated figures, 558 tree bushes and 306 plants inhabit the Green Planet.
  • There are 4,400 illuminated stars in the sky, 3,340 miniature city buildings, 250 cars on the street, and 140 street lights in the vast city beneath guests as they take flight.
  • Steven Spielberg, Academy Award-winning producer/director and creative consultant to Universal Studios Orlando, created a host of new characters for the ride. They include Botanicus, Tickli Moot Moot, Orbidon, Magdol, Horn-Flowers, Tympani Tremblies, Water Imps, Big Zoms, Gurgles, Squirtals, and Churtles.
  • E.T. Adventure marks the first time in history that a ride has been given its own original score. Academy Award-winning composer John Williams wrote music of soaring beauty to match the breathtaking excitement of the experience.
  • Six thousand gallons of paint were used to cover the floor at E.T. Adventure. The ride utilizes 284 miles of electrical wiring, 250 miles of fiber optics, 68 show control computers and 2,500 separate commands from those computers.

Fievel’s Playland:

  • Towering over the free-play area is a 200-foot water ride. Perched in uniquely designed "sardine cans built for two," kids and parents alike are swept through a sewer and whirled down through a maze of oversized pipes that ends with a giant splash in a strongbox below.
  • Young cowpokes crawl through a giant cowboy boot, jump into an enormous campfire skille, bounce under a 1,000-gallon cowboy hat, climb to the top and slide down the horn of a massive 19th century gramophone and make beautiful music sliding down another slide in the form of a Gulliver-sized harmonica.
  • A 15-foot high leaky canteen, the 30-foot Chula’s spider web, and the hulking skeleton of "Buffalo Bones" create a themed play area.
